International Program Coordinator
Lauren grew up in Washington state, and moved to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University, where she studied Political Science and Sociology. Lauren spent a semester studying international development economics in a rural village in Burkina Faso, and became interested in sustainable development in rural communities. During her time at Santa Clara, Lauren worked as the Department Coordinator of Empowerment for Santa Clara Community Action Program, a social justice group that applies advocacy and activism to achieve environmental justice, racial equality, rights and dignity for immigrant communities, and justice for the LGBT community- all things that Lauren is very passionate about! Prior to GRID, Lauren worked with Samasource, a non-profit social enterprise that connects people living in poverty in Kenya, Uganda, India, and Haiti to dignified employment opportunities in the digital sector.
