Ondrea Kanwhen

SolarCorps Construction Fellow
Growing up in an immigrant household affected by the civil war in Liberia I knew that luck and good fortune played as much of a role in my success as my unceasing hard work and perseverance. This is why I have always felt the need to give back whether it is through volunteering or working for socially responsible businesses.

My extremely circuitous career and education path has taken me all over the world and into different industries including the founding of Gbanah, LLC (an energy data consultancy) and the energy news website GlobalNRGNow.com. Through this I have gained a deep understanding of data analysis, risk management and energy trends.

As a Project Finance Analyst and Construction Fellow at GRID Alternatives Tri-State I use my past experience and newly acquired skillsets to provide outstanding service to the LMI households in the Tri-State area. This is a chance to be part of the solution in providing access to basic services, such as electricity, to underserved populations. Helping to provide a small bit of good fortune that may empower the people we serve to take a hold of the opportunity to fulfill their own dreams.
