The Stanford Chapter of GRID Alternatives recently completed their first solar electric installation in East Palo Alto. Under the guidance of the GRID Alternatives trained staff, Stanford GRID brought together two teams of enthusiastic Stanford students and alumni to install a solar electric system for a well known East Palo Alto community homeowner. This homeowner has been helping other low-income residents in her community by giving away food and clothing to those in need for more than 50 years. Click here to see the photos from the installation.
Many thanks to the homeowner who graciously supported the students' efforts, to the Co-Presidents Emily Humphreys and Lewis Hom, who organized the fundraising efforts and two 15-person volunteer installation teams, and to GRID Alternatives volunteer team leaders Marc Fontana, Uttam Chauhan, and Beth Copanas. The collective efforts of this group resulted in a a very successful weekend installation!
