Low-Income Weatherization Program

California's Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP) installs rooftop solar systems, solar hot water heater systems and weatherization measures on low-income households in disadvantaged communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save energy.

As part of the California Department of Community Services and Development's Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP), GRID Alternatives partners with environmentally and economically disadvantaged communities to install rooftop solar for homeowners and provide hands-on skill building opportunities to volunteers.

The LIWP-solar program is funded through California Climate Investments using proceeds from the state's cap-and-trade auctions.
