TOMORROW: “Expanding Access to Solar Energy for All American Households”

The Center for American Progress is hosting an important discussion Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 AM about how solar energy should be accessible to people of all income levels, highlighting certain state and federal policies that enable equitable access to clean energy. The event will be moderated by Greg Dotson, the VP for Energy Policy at the Center for American Progress. Neera Tanden, President of the Center for American Progress will deliver an introduction and California State Senator Kevin de León will be a key speaker. Panelists will include Jacqueline Patterson, Director of the Environment and Climate Justice Program at NAACP, Emily Kofsky, Director of Product Management at SolarCity, and GRID Alternative’s very own Mid-Atlantic Executive Director, Nicole Steele.

2015 DC STEM Fair

The 2015 DC STEM Fair will take place at Dunbar High School on Saturday, March 28 from 8AM – 3PM. The fair will be allow students to participate in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fair, learning from each other, and learning about STEM careers. Among the exhibitors will be GRID Alternatives, so make sure to stop by and say hello!

GRID Alternatives Volunteer Orientation

With springtime here, GRID Alternatives is excited about our upcoming solar installations! All installations are completed with the help of volunteers. Our next Volunteer Orientation will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 6pm at our office located at 1629 Benning Rd NE. It is essential that you register to be a volunteer through our portal and sign up to attend an orientation online. Make sure to select Mid-Atlantic as your region of interest. Find the application and more information here. Please arrive on time, we will not be able to allow you to get credit for attendance if you show up late.

 

Horizons 2015 Symposium
