On Veterans Day, members of KPMG’s Veterans Network joined GRID Alternatives to install solar on the home of Yvonne, whose husband and children are veterans and active duty military members, in Southeast, DC.
“I’ve been to college job fairs so far, but this is the best so far in terms of approachability, opportunities, and general interactions with companies. It left a good impression as my first professional career fair,” says Seqen, an electrical engineering student who just moved to DC after graduating from Penn State.
"I see the legal documents for solar all the time, but I wanted to get up close and personal with the installation process," said Karen, a WGL Holdings (WGL) employee and first time GRID volunteer. On November 4th, 2017, Karen was given the opportunity to learn the solar installation process – in person.
On October 9th, we celebrated our volunteers by hosting a barbeque at our new Central Valley GRID office.
“I have always believed that if the sun shines for everyone, its power should be a benefit for all.”
Earlier this month, GRID Alternatives paid tribute to that effort and celebrated the coming Solar For All program with our first project in Illinois, a demonstration of the myriad ways solar can benefit local communities.
