This month we celebrate the completion of our Inspire Giving project, a program by the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation. Inspire Giving is a charitable fund that seeks to support and grow the spirit of giving in the Capital Region. Our project expanded our employer placement network and provided job readiness programming to our trainees looking to find solar careers - 88% of our trainees from the project found employment.

“I’m on a single income that I get at the beginning of the month, and by the 10th, I’m broke,” shares Mrs. Morris, noting that the lower energy bills brought by solar would be a big help, if it weren’t for the up-front cost.
As the morning fog cleared on Saturday June 9th, the sun shined out over 100 volunteers on the rooftops and homes at Atchison Village in Richmond as a part of GRID Bay Area’s 13th Annual Solarthon event. The 2018 Solarthon, GRID’s annual solar installation block party and fundraiser, was a huge success: community volunteers, executives from the solar industry, solar clients and residents of Atchison Village, and local job trainees all came together to successfully install for 19 families in one day and take part in a celebration of Richmond's bright future!
