Michelle, originally from Walnut, California, studied Psychology and Spanish during her undergraduate education in South Carolina where she also played collegiate volleyball. After graduation, she worked as a social worker helping families in the Welfare to Work Program. She also participated in the No Child Left Behind initiative, working as an elementary school tutor. Additionally, Michelle worked in Leadership and Underwriting Training at Verengo Solar where she first volunteered with GRID through Verengo’s Solarthon sponsorship. Michelle then bridged her passion for humanitarian efforts with her knowledge of solar and started at GRID as an Outreach Coordinator with the Greater Los Angeles office. She has now relocated to Oakland as a Program Coordinator on the Programs team in GRID's Headquarters office. One of Michelle’s other passions outside of GRID is working in healing. She is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Reiki Healer and a licensed massage therapist.
