Sara joined GRID in 2019 as Tribal Program Assistant after completing her M.S. in Environmental Change and Management at the University of Oxford. A proud indigenous woman and member of Kewa Pueblo, Sara hopes to enable economic prosperity and environmental justice for her community and indigenous peoples worldwide through renewable energy initiatives. She has worked in her home state of New Mexico to advance community solar legislation for the greater state, focusing particularly on opportunities for tribal nations. Prior to GRID, Sara worked for the United Nations Secretariat of the Permanent Forum of Indigenous Issues. She completed her B.A. at the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in environmental studies and minor in economics.
