Este es un post especial de Colleen Smith, que ha realizado 5 viajes a Nicaragua para instalar sistemas solares. Aqu\u00ed, nos cuenta los \u00faltimos acontecimientos en Nicaragua, donde instal\u00f3 una bomba de riego por goteo alimentada por energ\u00eda solar para un agricultor. <\/em><\/p>\n

El aspecto m\u00e1s gratificante de este viaje fue conocer al granjero y a su familia. Al pasar tiempo con ellos, charlando por la noche, aprend\u00ed sobre los cultivos, los rendimientos y los desaf\u00edos diarios. Tambi\u00e9n aprend\u00ed c\u00f3mo un sistema de riego por goteo alimentado por energ\u00eda solar fuera de la red permitir\u00eda un suministro constante y eficiente de agua para mantener las cosechas regadas y aumentar la producci\u00f3n y el rendimiento.<\/p>\n

Cuando le preguntaron qu\u00e9 har\u00eda con el ingreso adicional, respondi\u00f3 que comprar\u00eda m\u00e1s semillas y plantas para cultivar en su terreno para alimentar a su familia. Quiz\u00e1s comprar\u00eda otra vaca o cerdo, todo ello con el fin de mejorar la vida de su familia. El ingreso adicional le permitir\u00eda enviar a su joven hija a la escuela y pagar por sus \u00fatiles escolares. Un contraste radical con lo que tendemos a gastar nuestro ingreso adicional en, como televisores, computadoras o los pr\u00f3ximos mejores dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos, todo para nuestro propio disfrute.<\/p>\n

Este viaje fue f\u00edsicamente desafiante ya que todos est\u00e1bamos cavando zanjas y excavando trincheras. Sin embargo, est\u00e1bamos cavando esas trincheras junto con el granjero, su familia y sus vecinos. Nosotros, como comunidad, est\u00e1bamos comprometidos con el \u00e9xito de este proyecto. \u00a1Y ciertamente lo logramos gracias a un grupo incre\u00edble y dedicado de voluntarios!!<\/p>\n

El denominador com\u00fan en todos mis viajes ha sido c\u00f3mo los nicarag\u00fcenses, tanto en las ciudades como en las comunidades rurales, ponen un gran valor en el entorno familiar y comunitario. Creo que eso es lo que me hizo enamorarme de Nicaragua hace 8 a\u00f1os, cuando viaj\u00e9 all\u00ed de vacaciones. Los paisajes son exuberantes en algunas \u00e1reas, pero en otras son duras. Muchas familias pueden carecer de bienes materiales, pero abundan en su fe, su m\u00fasica, su risa y sus sonrisas.
