Este programa de vacaciones de primavera es una alternativa a las tradicionales, en la que los estudiantes pasan la semana de vacaciones trabajando en proyectos comunitarios y aprendiendo mediante la pr\u00e1ctica. Los estudiantes de la Universidad Estatal de Arizona no solo instalaron sistemas solares para familias de bajos ingresos en la zona, sino que tambi\u00e9n tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en otras oportunidades y actividades voluntarias significativas que apoyan a GRID Alternatives, en nuestra misi\u00f3n de brindar acceso a la energ\u00eda renovable a todas las comunidades a nivel nacional. <\/p>\n<p>Los estudiantes de Arizona State que viajaron a la Costa Central est\u00e1n matriculados en un programa de maestr\u00eda que estudia ingenier\u00eda solar y comercializaci\u00f3n. A trav\u00e9s de Solar Spring Break pudieron obtener experiencia pr\u00e1ctica aplicando las teor\u00edas y conceptos que aprenden en el aula a escenarios del mundo real. Uno de los estudiantes, Abhishek Rao, explic\u00f3 su experiencia con los aspectos t\u00e9cnicos de la semana. \u201cEl equipo de GRID se asegur\u00f3 de explicar cada paso del proceso de instalaci\u00f3n y nos dej\u00f3 realizar la mayor parte del trabajo de instalaci\u00f3n, mientras velaban por nuestra seguridad en los tejados. Solar Spring Break ha aportado definitivamente una perspectiva del mundo real muy necesaria a mi experiencia de estudio de ingenier\u00eda solar en la escuela.\u201d Adem\u00e1s de la experiencia pr\u00e1ctica, los estudiantes tambi\u00e9n pudieron visitar la Topaz Solar Farm, actualmente la granja solar comercial m\u00e1s grande del mundo. <\/p>\n<p>Los estudiantes tuvieron tiempo para explorar la Costa Central entre los entrenamientos y las actividades relacionadas con el sol. Algunos de los momentos m\u00e1s destacados fueron acampar en Morro Bay, visitar el Castillo de Hearst, jugar al f\u00fatbol en la playa, degustar vinos y pasar su \u00faltima noche en el faro de Piedras Blancas. Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 Abhishek describiendo nuevamente su experiencia: \u201cFue un sue\u00f1o de infancia hecho realidad: \u00a1visitar un faro, y mucho menos pasar la noche en uno! \u00a1Fue una sensaci\u00f3n surrealista ver ballenas grises y nutrias marinas en las aguas del Pac\u00edfico!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de GRID Alternatives Central Coast desea agradecer a los estudiantes de la Universidad Estatal de Arizona por decidir pasar su tiempo libre de la primavera instalando paneles solares para familias de bajos ingresos en la zona. El beneficio de la labor realizada tendr\u00e1 un impacto continuo en las vidas de las familias de bajos ingresos en la Central Coast durante los pr\u00f3ximos 25 a\u00f1os, proporcionando ahorros muy necesarios en sus facturas de electricidad. Los sistemas instalados por los estudiantes de la Universidad Estatal de Arizona ahorrar\u00e1n a los clientes $36.460 durante la vida \u00fatil de los sistemas y compensar\u00e1n 112 toneladas de gases de efecto invernadero, lo que equivale a plantar 2.646 \u00e1rboles.
