Dos semanas despu\u00e9s, comenc\u00e9 una pasant\u00eda en el departamento de Construcci\u00f3n. Soy una persona que se involucra de lleno en todo y que no tiene miedo de empezar a trabajar cuando se trata de tomar decisiones sobre mi vida.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es el valor GRID que m\u00e1s te llama la atenci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Acci\u00f3n positiva. Pas\u00e9 muchos a\u00f1os de mi vida firmando peticiones, aportando dinero o dedicando mi tiempo a causas en las que cre\u00eda y a los cambios que quer\u00eda ver. Ser voluntario en SolarCorps es mi primera vez en comprometerme a tiempo completo con una organizaci\u00f3n que crea ese cambio todos los d\u00edas. Quiero ser un ejemplo para las personas y decirles que pueden buscar nuevas oportunidades en cualquier etapa de su vida. Nunca pens\u00e9 que estar\u00eda donde estoy a los 50 a\u00f1os, pero hay un lugar para todos en la lucha por la justicia social. Nunca es demasiado tarde.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfEl momento favorito de GRID?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Creo que lo que me hizo querer estar aqu\u00ed fue mi primera instalaci\u00f3n. \u00a1Tengo miedo a los alturas, y en un momento incluso mirarme hacia abajo por las escaleras me daba miedo! Antes de mi primera instalaci\u00f3n, me lo dije muy t\u00edmidamente a los miembros del equipo de GRID que ten\u00eda miedo de trabajar en el tejado, y ellos fueron muy agradables y serviciales. Me dejaron trabajar en el suelo y me ense\u00f1aron a doblar los conductos y realizar la parte el\u00e9ctrica de las cosas. La forma en que nuestro equipo ense\u00f1a a otras personas lo empodera much\u00edsimo, y lo experiment\u00e9 de primera mano. Despu\u00e9s del almuerzo, los equipos de techo y suelo cambiaron de turno, y dije que intentar\u00eda trabajar en el tejado durante la segunda mitad del d\u00eda. Me puse la preocupaci\u00f3n en el coraz\u00f3n, escal\u00e9 la escalera y lo hice. \u00a1Fue tan liberador! No s\u00e9 si dir\u00eda que todav\u00eda tengo miedo a los alturas \u2013 \u00a1pero definitivamente tengo una gran precauci\u00f3n! \u00a1Los tejados planos son definitivamente mis favoritos!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfUna curiosidad sobre ti?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Soy muy t\u00edmida, pero no me deja dejar de conocer gente nueva y hacer cosas! Una vez habl\u00e9 en el Ayuntamiento sobre la crisis de la vivienda en San Francisco, y lo que me hizo hablar en frente de 500 personas fue que mi hijo estaba conmigo y mi profunda convicci\u00f3n en lo que dec\u00eda. \u00a1Me apasiona mucho la vivienda asequible y me encantar\u00eda empoderar a todos en nuestras ciudades para que puedan ser propietarios de una vivienda propia!<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfSab\u00eda usted que 1 de cada 5 miembros del personal de GRID es un Fellow de SolarCorps? \u00a1Las solicitudes para la cohorte 2018-2019 se abrir\u00e1n el pr\u00f3ximo mes!
