Fundada en el auge de la pandemia de VIH\/SIDA, ALMAC comenz\u00f3 como un hospice donde las personas pod\u00edan pasar sus \u00faltimos d\u00edas con dignidad. Hoy, gracias a los avances m\u00e9dicos, se ha convertido en un centro de recuperaci\u00f3n y apoyo comunitario, que atiende <strong>adultos y menores que viven con VIH\/SIDA, tuberculosis y enfermedades relacionadas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Con servicios que son <strong>libre e inclusivo<\/strong>, Las Memorias apoya a las personas independientemente de su religi\u00f3n, orientaci\u00f3n sexual, g\u00e9nero o nacionalidad. Todos los d\u00edas, ofrece:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diagn\u00f3sticos de laboratorio y atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica<\/li>\n<li>Tratamiento de la tuberculosis activa<\/li>\n<li>Psicoterapia y apoyo a la salud mental<\/li>\n<li>Alimentaci\u00f3n, educaci\u00f3n y asistencia social<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Todos los d\u00edas, Las Memorias atiende directamente a alrededor de 150 personas que dependen de sus servicios m\u00e9dicos y sociales. Adem\u00e1s, otros 400 individuos \u2014miembros de la familia y miembros de la comunidad\u2014 se benefician indirectamente gracias a la alimentaci\u00f3n, el tratamiento y otras formas de asistencia. La instalaci\u00f3n utiliza actualmente una media de 1.900 kilovatios hora de electricidad cada mes, y el coste de esta energ\u00eda se ha convertido en un gasto operativo significativo. Para abordar este problema, GRID International, junto con los socios Savant y IGS, instalar\u00e1 un sistema fotovoltaico solar de 14,8 kW en octubre de 2025. Con facturas de electricidad que se sit\u00faan entre $250 y $275 por mes, el nuevo sistema reducir\u00e1 dr\u00e1sticamente los gastos operativos y crear\u00e1 estabilidad financiera a largo plazo. Los beneficios van mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del balance general: la energ\u00eda solar mantendr\u00e1 los alimentos y los medicamentos refrigerados de forma segura, garantizar\u00e1 una ventilaci\u00f3n adecuada en el \u00e1rea de tratamiento de la tuberculosis y proporcionar\u00e1 resistencia ante apagones en toda la ciudad para que los servicios esenciales puedan continuar sin interrupciones. Bas\u00e1ndonos en los proyectos solares anteriores en Las Memorias en 2019 y 2021, sabemos que estos ahorros hacen una diferencia tangible.
