Situada en el municipio de Tecate, Juntas de Neji cubre un \u00e1rea de 11.590 hect\u00e1reas y alberga a 140 habitantes, 90 de los cuales pertenecen a la naci\u00f3n Kumeyaay, lo que convierte a Juntas de Neji en la comunidad ind\u00edgena m\u00e1s al norte de M\u00e9xico. Aunque Juntas de Neji est\u00e1 relativamente cerca de ciudades m\u00e1s grandes como Tecate y Tijuana, la electricidad el\u00e9ctrica no se ha extendido nunca a su comunidad. GRID instal\u00f3 otros seis sistemas solares para hogares en octubre de 2019, lo que llev\u00f3 por primera vez electricidad limpia y confiable a seis familias m\u00e1s de la comunidad, mejorando la calidad de vida de los residentes y creando m\u00e1s oportunidades de generaci\u00f3n de ingresos.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/gridalternatives.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/48867871072_ef9bc740a6_k_opt.jpg.webp\")
Durante su viaje de 3 d\u00edas a M\u00e9xico, los participantes de la zona de San Diego y el \u00c1rea Metropolitana de Los \u00c1ngeles se sumergieron en la comunidad rural de Juntas de Neji, permaneciendo all\u00ed y trabajando junto al personal de GRID y sus socios para montar y instalar los sistemas solares desde el principio hasta el final. Tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer la comunidad de Juntas de Neji y la cultura local Kumeyaay, y de interactuar personalmente con familias y miembros de la comunidad.
