Glen Ford

Growing up in Prince George’s County, Glen wanted to become a meteorologist. Even now he studies weather patterns and how they might affect days on the job. After the COVID-19 pandemic ended his employment in distribution, he started looking for new opportunities in career development—and his interest in weather led him towards solar. He joined the Solar Works DC program in 2021. “What stood out to me was the teamwork. We called ourselves the Sweet 16,” he said about his fellow Solar Works DC trainees. He joined the GRID Mid-Atlantic staff in 2022. Now, as a solar installer, Glen passes along what he’s learned to new trainees, helping them gain a foothold in the solar industry.
