Some of the unsung heroes here at GRID Alternatives work in the background. Generous people that are willing to share their knowledge and time to help others. These people don’t get paid for there efforts, but their knowledge and input are priceless. These people are on the Board of Directors for our headquarters office and each of our affiliate offices.

In 2018, Cristian Tello heard about GRID Alternatives from a radio announcement. Although he didn’t know anything about solar, he was interested in finding out more about a possible opportunity. His current job at a car wash wasn’t providing the prospect of upward advancement and solar just might be the thing that he was looking for in a career. With a little investigative work, he found that GRID Alternatives offered a variety of ways to gain skills in different aspects of the solar industry and Installation Basics Training (IBT) was one of them.

California State University, Fresno, (CSUF) has been committed to improving students education while helping the community in the Central Valley. Every year, thousands of students choose to volunteer in many different ways, giving back to the community. According to the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning, CSUF has provided over one million hours of service here in California’s central valley.
