Sierra Schultz (she/her) works on the HQ Construction team as a Commercial Project Manager. She joined GRID in 2021, with a background in Civil Engineering and experience in managing Heavy-Civil Construction projects. Her role focuses on climate justice through engineering and project management. Sierra has managed PV installations throughout California, while co-leading two affinity groups at GRID.

VOA manages income-qualified housing, and they are a leader in providing housing for seniors. Recently, GRID installed 20 off-grid solar-powered refrigerators for families in the Kumeyaay communities of Juntas de Neji and San Antonio Necua with support from Sempra Foundation. Refrigeration allows families to keep food, beverages, and medicine cold without having to drive 20-40 minutes to a nearby town to buy ice. The solar systems immediately save families time, money and improve health.

Wells Fargo made its first philanthropic donation to support GRID’s work in California. In 2018, Wells Fargo provided a $5 million philanthropic grant over three years to support GRID’s Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund. Most recently in 2022, GRID Alternatives received a $500,000 philanthropic grant from Wells Fargo for its Welcome Home Initiative, an enterprise-wide employee engagement initiative that aims to create a deeper sense of community pride and collective purpose in support of Wells Fargo’s commitment to affordable and sustainable housing.

As part of this effort, Wells Fargo employees have the opportunity to participate in over 10 GRID Alternatives solar installation projects across the country.

Maya first joined GRID Alternatives in 2020 as a SolarCorp, and now works on the Policy and Business Development team. Maya has helped build and scale GRID’s mission-driven investment and loan fund - Energy Resilience Fund, and works on fundraising and materials for prospective investors!

GRID Alternatives is installing a 115.9 kW PV system on the Rolling Oaks Apartments in Rocklin, CA. The system will benefit 79 seniors over the age of 62 with limited incomes. GRID’s HQ commercial team worked on project development to secure the California SOMAH rebate and a low-cost bridge loan from Left Coast Fund.

Carole Bernard recently joined our HQ team as the Vice President of Communications. We are excited to have her here, and welcome her expertise and guidance for our growing Communications departments all across GRID.

We now have the technology to replace gasoline with sunshine, which has the benefit of being better for the planet and dramatically cheaper for drivers to ‘fill up’. GRID knows that electric vehicles and clean mobility are powerful opportunities for reparation in communities that have borne the brunt of the gasoline economy.
