When global organizations look to understand what climate, justice looks like on the ground, they turn to the people doing the work. That’s why GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GRID GLA) was honored to be featured in Hyundai’s Cities in Motion film, created in collaboration with the UK-based storytelling agency Voice for Nature.
The video, which spotlights real-life solutions to sustainability challenges in cities around the world, includes a segment highlighting GRID GLA’s solar installation work and our community-centered approach to clean energy access. Our Executive Director, Ashley Christy, had the opportunity to meet with Hyundai’s team and guide them through South Los Angeles, offering a firsthand look at what local energy innovation and equity truly look like in action.

GRID GLA appears in the Los Angeles segment (6:46–7:10), showcasing one of our rooftop solar installs and the people behind the work, underscoring how local solutions are powering a global transition.
But the story doesn’t end there. A clip from the video has also been selected for a permanent installation at the Natural History Museum of London. The exhibition, Fixing Our Broken Planet, opens in early April and explores sustainability across four key areas: Food, Materials, Energy, and Health. The GRID GLA footage will be featured alongside stories from around the world, each highlighting real progress toward a more sustainable future.
