GRID partners with NREL to provide solar training to tribes

In October, GRID partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory to provide solar training to five Indian tribes, including Blue Lake Rancheria, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, Picuris Pueblo, and St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.

Technical staff for the tribes spent the week learning operations and maintenance guidelines for solar photovoltaic systems, and had the opportunity to get hands-on experience using the tools, equipment and skills that they will use to maintain solar systems in their own communities.
