GRID IE is pleased to announce its first solar + storage installations in the Inland Empire, in partnership with the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians and Enphase and with funding from the Rose Foundation.

The solar installed on these three homes for the Auclair, Becerra, and Lavergne families generates over 24 kW-DC, which will provide them with $148,000 in energy savings over the lifetime of the systems, plus the attached storage will provide the homes with resiliency against power outages, and additional savings on their energy bills!

On top of all that, these three installations will prevent 389 tons of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the equivalent of taking 72 cars off the road or planting 8874 trees!

Lisa Castilone, GRID IE's Director of Tribal Programs, and Joseph Mirelez, Vice Chairman of the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians, celebrated these important installations at Seldon Auclair's home. They both remarked on the importance of energy resiliency not only to the Tribe but to the Coachella Valley as a whole. GRID IE will expand its work in this area and increase its focus on Eastern Riverside County.
