Members of the Soboba Tribal Environmental Department organized Soboba’s annual Earth Day celebration on April 11th. More than 500 guests to the Soboba Sports Complex visited 40 vendors, including GRID IE, who provided conservation information and giveaways.
“We try to bring awareness about environmental issues that affect the whole world, such as climate change, and we have games and activities to spread important messages,” Environmental Director Christian Aceves said.
Aceves said his favorite part is interacting with the “passionate local vendors and the amazing Tribal community members” in attendance.
Lisa Castilone, Director of Tribal Programs, and Richard Lintin, Marketing and Communications Director, represented GRID IE at the event. They thoroughly enjoyed meeting the Tribal community members and especially enjoyed catching up with Kevin (photo above - with Lisa), a graduate of the historic first cohort of IBT 200. Marco is currently working on gaining electrical certifications.
