Interfaith Power & Light Partnership with GRID Alternatives

Solar power does more than clean the air. It can also provide long-term energy cost savings for families struggling to pay utility bills. Be a steward of Creation and bring the benefits of solar to your community!

Interfaith Power & Light is partnering with national nonprofit GRID Alternatives to promote GRID's Solar Affordable Housing Program to qualifying congregants, families, neighbors and friends.

There are lots of ways to get your faith community involved. Here are just a few:

  • Invite a GRID Alternatives representative to speak at a service
  • Put up GRID/IPL posters in your church, mosque or synagogue and distribute materials at congregation events
  • Mention GRID's services in your faith community's newsletter
  • Host or co-host a workshop for community and congregation members to learn more about GRID's services
  • Participate in a GRID installation individually or as a congregation
  • Organize on-the ground outreach to low-income communities
  • Challenge another church/faith based group to a GRID/IPL low-income solar sign-up-a-thon
