What is SolarCorps?
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program creates pathways into the clean energy industry, connecting underrepresented talent with opportunity and advancing economic and environmental justice.
The SolarCorps Fellowship is an 11-month, paid apprenticeship-model program that offers the opportunty to work on real-world projects with hands-on training in a supportive, inclusive environment. Fellows serve their communities while building the skills and connections needed for long-term careers in climate, energy, and community-serving organizations. No prior experience needed!
With more than 300 alumni to date, SolarCorps is helping to build a world powered by renewable energy that benefits everyone.
What SolarCorps offers:
- Paid, full-time fellowship: Earn $40,800 over 11 months and an end of term award
- Hands on experience: Over 1700 hours of on the job training and applying your skills to real-world projects
- Mentorship: The opportunity to gain a mentor and be a part of a team
- Professional Development: Virtual orientation, monthly workshops, a midyear retreat, networking opportunites, and $600 to spend on your personal professional development
- Industry-recognized credentials: Have the opportunity to earn your First Aid, OSHA10, OSHA30, NABCEP Associates certifications, and more (note that not all fellowships include these certifications as part of the program, but you have the opportunity to earn certificates that align with your career path during your term)
- Career Pathway Support: 80% of our fellows typically find a job within 2 months of completing the program

How can I join?
Our next cohort for 2025-2026 will run from September 15th, 2025 to August 14th, 2026. Positions are available throughout California, in the D.C. area, and in New Mexico. Remote and location-flexible positions are also available.
