This December, GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GRID GLA) proudly hosted the Build Green Job Fair—an impactful extension of our workforce development programming. More than just a training initiative, GRID GLA is committed to helping individuals launch long-term, meaningful careers in the green economy. The Build Green Job Fair reflects that commitment by creating direct pathways from education to employment.
Held in the heart of Los Angeles, the event welcomed a dynamic mix of GRID trainees, recent graduates, and local employers spanning clean energy, sustainable construction, and climate resilience industries. Job seekers had the chance to explore real job opportunities, refine their networking skills, and practice their professional pitch in a welcoming and inclusive space. Employers, in turn, connected with a motivated pool of diverse candidates ready to bring their skills to the green workforce. The fair exemplified GRID GLA’s mission of bridging economic opportunity with environmental progress, all while strengthening community-driven climate solutions.
“This is what makes our program different. We don’t just provide hands-on training, we take it a step further by actively creating pathways to employment. These job fairs are where those connections start.”
Anthony Jaramillo, Workforce Development Liaison Manager at GRID GLA
Employers in attendance included solar companies, general contractors, union representatives, and workforce partners. Many of whom have hired GRID trainees in the past and continue to look to our program for strong, field-ready candidates.
For participants, the event was about more than job leads, it was about seeing what’s possible, gaining confidence, and stepping into a network of support that extends beyond the classroom.

“Getting trained is the first step. Having access to events like this, and to potential employers who value your skills, is what turns that training into a career,” Jaramillo said.
The Build Green Job Fair is one more way GRID GLA is working to ensure that a clean energy future includes and uplifts those historically left out of the green workforce.
