GLA congratulates Ryan Shelton on Corpsmember of the Year nomination

GRID Alternatives extends our congratulations to Ryan Shelton, a solar training success story who has been nominated for Corpsmember of the Year in The Corps Network (http://www.thecorpsnetwork.org). Currently employed at Xero Solar, Ryan was a member of our last class of Greater Los Angeles SolarCorps Fellows, where he served with the Construction Department and worked on Multifamily projects.

Prior to SolarCorps, Ryan trained with GRID during a paid 2018 cohort of Solar Jobs Second Chances interns. His rising star was profiled in an Energy News Network series on Solar Workforce Diversity earlier in 2019. Ryan's introduction to GRID was wetting his feet in energy installation work as part of Conservation Corps of Long Beach, one of our Long Beach partners. (CCLB shares his finalist honors.)

Along with a dozen others from across the country, Ryan's a phenomenal candidate for the 2020 Corpsmember of the Year Award! We echo The Corps Network, which singles you out for your influence "helping other young people make the right decisions and find their passions"! We're proud of you for helping build a stronger community.
