A huge welcome to our newest GRIDsters: Pedro Hernandez - Solar Installation Supervisor and Carlos Chairez – SolarCorps Construction Assistant!
Pedro comes to us from the Center for Employment Training (CET) Soledad, where he was a job training instructor for nine years and taught, among many students, Jeremiah Bennett, one of our AmeriCorps Members this year. Pedro has been volunteering with our office for some time now and before coming on board had donated 349 hours to GRID! He and the CET students helped our Central Coast team significantly last year when they volunteered and helped us with our 30 house solar project in Hollister. While Pedro will also build projects in the southern part of our region, he will be mainly assigned to projects in the northern parts of our territory. Welcome Pedro, so glad to have you join our team!
Carlos worked with GRID Alternatives Central Coast on a temporary basis for the past several months and comes on board familiar with GRID and with our Central Coast crew. He is a native of Paso Robles, a town that is ten minutes north of our Atascadero office. For almost two years before coming to GRID, Carlos worked for a contractor that installed the 550MW solar project of BHE Renewables/Topaz Solar Farm in the Carrizo Plain. In addition to solar, Carlosenjoys working on cars (autobody & paint), is a welder, and is an incredible artist. Carlos is excited to be here and we are thrilled to have him join our AWESOME construction crew!
