Local Government Partnerships

The benefits of solar reverberate throughout low-income communities: families live more affordably in their homes; savings get reinvested in local economies; and the value of sustainability spreads.

In partnership with GRID Alternatives Tri-state, local governments can help reduce and stabilize long-term housing costs for low income-residents, provide a clean, local energy source, and provide hands-on green job training opportunities for local workers.

Current and past partners, including the cities of San Francisco, CA; ▒San Diego, CA; and Boulder, CO, have used Community Development Block Grants, fee-for-service contracts, low-cost loans and local solar rebate programs to support GRID's work in their communities. GRID Alternatives also partners with local and state agencies, such as the Colorado Energy Office, NYSERDA and the California Public Utilities Commission, to help meet clean energy targets.
