Can you believe we’ve reached our final Installation Basics Training (IBT 200) cohort of the year? The end of September marked a new partnership with The California Conservation Corps’(CCC) Energy Corps division. Through the partnership we are able to provide eight corps members with solar installation skills before they graduate from the CCC program. CCC provides trained labor for public agency and non-profit energy-efficiency and renewables projects. Corps members receive energy industry level training while working on lighting retrofits, energy surveys, and solar panel installations. Not only have these trainees been installing solar on homes for deserving community members, but they have also been trained in the basics of solar design, conduit bending, and many other industry-specific skills through GRID.
We are closing out this year with North Valley's fifth graduating IBT 200 class. They will be the first class in our program to show their skills in our Solar Showcase on November 1st. This showcase on the final day of the IBT 200 program will allow trainees to have individual opportunities in our Technical Academy to demonstrate their newly acquired solar installation skills with an audience of employers ready to hire! We are truly excited about the opportunity to work with CCC members for our culminating IBT 200 year!
