The historic first cohort of Installation Basics Training 200 (IBT 200) trainees is well underway in their five-week intensive solar installation training course.
IBT 200 helps trainees develop competencies and excel in the high-demand solar workforce.
IBT 200 reduces hiring challenges for employers by preparing a high-performance solar workforce. Our training is developed with employers’ needs at its core.
IBT 200 is designed to help employers find trained and reliable individuals eager to start their careers
in solar or related industries. The program aims to:
- Expand the pipeline of qualified and diverse solar candidates
- Increase installation capacity
- Improve employers’ brand and value by delivering a higher quality of work
- Lower recruitment costs
At the time of writing, this first cohort has completed the first week of classroom and in-house training and are currently in their second week, including a practical complete solar installation in the field - on a home in San Bernadino under the tutelage of GRID IE's in-house construction crew.
We are so proud of the trainees and our Workforce staff at GRID Alternatives Inland Empire, who have worked so hard to ensure this first round of IBT 200 is a great success!
GRID IE is dedicated to building an equitable, inclusive, and diverse solar workforce that offers people of all backgrounds access to careers that sustain families and help bring wealth to their communities.
