Volunteer Jeffery Trirogoff has been committed to GRID Alternatives since his first installation in March of 2011. He came in with clear intentions and a clear goal. Already having achieved a BPI Certification, this Green enthusiast wanted to obtain his NABCEP Installers Certification while giving back to the community at large. On any given installation you could see Jeff diligently working to get the job done. Easy to get along with, he quickly became a familiar face amongst staff and volunteers alike. He rapidly accumulated hours as a volunteer installer and became both a Roof and a Ground Team Leader.
Upon the start of 2012, Jeff made a concerted effort to maintain contact with Adewale OgunBadejo, the Training Coordinator in the GLA office. Together they kept track of his progress and gauged what needed to be done in order for Jeff to sit for the NABCEP Installers exam.
In June of 2012 it all came together. Jeff had completed all of the Team Leader installs needed to qualify for the exam. His paperwork from GRID was put together and sent off to NABCEP and he was officially approved to sit for the exam. As you can see in the picture of Jeff, the exam went quite well and he is more than pleased with the outcome. In his own words, "Vision, dedication, hard work and passion these are the things that keep me plugged into the program with Grid. The entire team has supported me at every step in the process. All the things the supervisors, team leaders and volunteers have done to make me laugh Ill cherish forever because they were that funny. And I need more good times ahead, so if you see me on the job, know that Im still learning and still laughing with the family I found at GRID!"
We at GRID Altrnatives are equally pleased. For us it is another great example of what community means. Volunteers serving low-income families while at the same time getting the most out of the experience. This is what can be accomplished when a Non-profit with a mission, a Volunteer with a goal and an outside organization with a common denominator (Solar) can come together for the benefit of the whole. Really AWESOME things! Congratulations Jeff on a job well done! Hes now pursuing a C-46; we wish him the very best of luck.
