GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) is excited to announce the launch of its virtual Installation Basics Training (IBT) program.
The Virtual IBT Program at GRID Alternatives Inland Empire is an online virtual training consisting of 40 hours of curriculum, including videos and quizzes. The training will run from March 15 - 26, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Training participants can expect to learn knowledge and skills needed to qualify for paid job training opportunities through programs like Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) and GRID’s Solar Subcontractor Partnership Program (SPP). The training program’s projected value is $800 per student; however, this training is offered at no cost during this pilot. Participants will also receive exit program support, including career pathway workshops, mock interview prep, and introductions to industry recruiters. The professional development skills taught in the program are transferable to careers across the building trades and beyond.
