It was a beautiful day in Lynwood this past Saturday when GRID partners KPMG and Southern California Edison (SCE) came together to install solar systems on three Habitat for Humanity homes. We were able to install systems for the Peyton, Hernandez, and Ramirez families with over 30 employees from KPMG and SCE.
Homeowner Nikki Payton said, "I am excited about having solar panels installed. It will reduce my electricity bill and it will help to protect the environment with clean, renewable and sustainable energy"
We installed a total of 7.75kW (DC) of solar for the families, which is projected to save $73,800 value of energy generated systems over their lifetimes (direct savings to the families) and 151 tons of emissions prevented (equivalent of planting over 3,500 trees).
Thank you KPMG, SCE, and Habitat for Humanity for volunteering, building homes, and helping to bring solar to deserving families in the greater Los Angeles area.
