For Ahmed Sulaiman, a big smile and good humor are essential to the enjoyment of life. Having overcome serious medical issues, Ahmed knew it was of little help to sink into negativity. However, as the breadwinner of a full house, including his mother, wife, and two children, and with additional medical bills on the horizon, Ahmed could use a little breathing room. When a friend with a GRID system told him about GRID’s Solar Affordable Housing Program, he became intrigued and applied for his own. As a salesperson for vehicles, Ahmed was blown away by GRID’s level of service and attentiveness. “Everything was beautiful, excellent, a 10 out of 10,” he expressed. With the significant savings his family will have with solar, having a big smile for the upbeat homeowner became even easier.
Ahmed has also spread the word to all his friends and family, and one of his next-door siblings is currently going through the application process. “GRID helped me financially and is helping my community by creating a healthier environment and teaching volunteers the skills that are necessary to gain employment,” he said. “I am happy to be part of a local organization’s work.”
