Marissa Rogers
Development Officer
Marissa holds an MA in Peace and Justice, a BA in Philosophy: Ethics & Public Policy, and a minor in Black Studies, and these three subjects are inextricably intertwined guiding forces for her. She has significant experience working in both grassroots nonprofits and higher education. Because of her time in academia coaching undergraduate and graduate students, she has a solid hope in the power and passion of the upcoming generation. Her extensive work in the nonprofit sector brought her to megacities around the world experiencing intractable poverty and environmental degradation due to systemic injustices – and a lived understanding of the nonprofit industrial complex. She was born and raised in San Diego and is excited to join the work GRID San Diego is doing to create equitable solutions to our climate crisis with a community-centric approach. Her favorite sound is her daughter laughing, and her favorite sight is flourishing communities.
