12th Cohort Graduates from San Diego Solar Installation Program

CONGRATULATIONS!! On September 26th, we celebrated the close of our 12th CDBG trainee cohort. These trainees worked on around 15 installations each, helping to install close to 45kW of solar -- equivalent to offsetting 862 tons of greenhouse gas emissions! During their training, this triad has logged nearly 650 hours and completed their Installation Basic Training certificates with GRID Alternatives.

When asked about the team, construction assistant Erica Cook replied, “You guys have a go-get-‘em attitude and are hard workers [who are] work hungry!”

Mohammad Alshehneh, one of the graduates, closed the ceremony with a short speech: "I’m so happy to start with solar for the real world. I’ll miss you guys so much! I don’t want to leave, but we have to be in solar. So thank you for GRID! We gotta get up and save the environment and save money for the people.

To which Dave Arbour, Solar Installation Supervisor replied, “Hooray for the hard work!”
