Ambessa Cantave

Ambessa Cantave joined GRID Alternatives in October 2019 as their Bay Area Workforce Development Manager, before transitioning to Outreach & Construction Specialist. His background lies at the intersections of program management, sustainable activism and education, and providing professional development opportunities for transitional-aged youth (TAY). Prior to GRID, Ambessa served in management positions for Oakland Museum of California, Bay Area Green Tours, and Alliance for Climate Education. He is also a Green For All Fellow and a co-founder of Grind for the Green, a non-profit that trained youth of color to produce solar-powered hip-hop concerts. Ambessa holds bachelor's degrees in marketing and psychology from CUNY York College. He is also a proud father of two children, and a Hip-Hop vocalist.
