Question: How many GRID Alternatives staff and volunteers does it take to install solar on our warehouse?
Answer: All of them!!
We couldnt be more thankful to everyone who helped our Oakland warehouse go solar! The installation took us over 2 years and required all hands on deck, but the huge impacts are well worth it: our new 15 kilowatt solar electric system will prevent 440 tons of greenhouse gas emissions (the equivalent of planting 10,336 trees) and generate $140,000 worth of power over its lifetime. We are thrilled to be able to walk the solar talk, but more importantly, we are excited to use our savings to share the benefits of clean energy with the families that need it most.
Again, a million thanks to the amazing volunteers and GRID staff that worked so hard to make this happen and to our friends at Applied Materials for donating the solar panels!
