For 2017, the festival will fundraise directly for GRID [Alternatives Greater Los Angeles] to support their mission of providing clean energy to those who need it most.
Accompanied by two MITEI representatives, the students spent the week in Los Angeles, California, installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the home of a low-income family in the Leimert Park neighborhood.
GRID Alternatives works diligently at educating communities that may have never heard of solar power. Adewale OgunBadejo works as the group's workforce development manager and is committed to giving underserved communities a stake in the renewable revolution.
