Alvin Waters

Alvin Waters grew up and went to school in the San Fernando Valley. He graduated from the California State University of Northridge with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. His passion for solar started in 2017 as a volunteer with GRID Alternatives performing installations for both the Los Angeles and Inland Empire office while he was in school for electrical construction at the West Valley Occupational Center as well as photovoltaics at the North Valley Occupational Center. He realized his passion for solar because it was within his desire to be a part of building something while making a difference in the world. With the support of GRID Alternatives Workforce Development Program, he started with Sunpower in residential as a Permit Coordinator and worked his way up to a Project Manager. After 3 years it was within his desire to pivot his career to commercial solar which later brought him back full circle to GRID Alternatives. During his spare time Alvin serves on his local Neighborhood Council Board for Community Outreach and Publicity. He enjoys outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, fishing and watersports.
