Macy Boungert

Macy Boungert, born and raised in Long Beach, California, is the son of parents who relocated to the state during the Khmer Rouge. Macy’s career journey began after his release from prison when he enrolled in GRID Alternatives' Installation Basics Training (IBT) program. His passion for solar energy and GRID's mission inspired a deep commitment to community development. While he initially planned to return to firefighting, a career he pursued while incarcerated, Macy decided to dedicate his efforts toward uplifting his community through renewable energy. Today, Macy serves as GRID Alternatives’ Workforce Development Coordinator, where he supports individuals pursuing careers in the solar industry.
