GRID Alternatives Inland Empire’s First TCC Ontario Single-Family Solar Installation

GRID Alternatives is a national leader in making clean renewable energy technology and job training accessible to communities who need it most. GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) established a partnership with the City of Ontario earlier this year and announced the launch of TCC Ontario Solar Homes Initiative & Neighborhood Empowerment (SHINE) Program to install solar on single-family and multifamily residences in Ontario, California. GRID IE is proud to celebrate the installation of its first Ontario single-family home, a 2.925 DC kW solar system, which during the lifetime of the system will provide savings of over $21,800 on their energy bill, as well as prevent over 42 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Ontario Together is supported by California Strategic Growth Council’s Transformative Climate Communities program with funds from California Climate Investments—Cap-and-Trade Dollars at Work, as well as Disadvantaged Communities—Single-Family Solar Homes (DAC-SASH), a State of California program overseen by the California Public Utilities Commission and administered by GRID Alternatives, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. A kick-off celebration, previously planned for March 27, will be rescheduled at a later date due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
