The City of Riverside recently announced the launch of the Eastside Climate Collaborative, a four-year project that includes seven non-profit and governmental partners to complete smart growth projects in the Eastside neighborhood of Riverside.
GRID Alternatives Inland Empire provides hands-on classroom education and curriculum, as well as invaluable on-the roof job training through its Solar Futures program. This program equips youth with the tools necessary to propel them into a promising solar career. Accessibility to hands-on solar installation training gives individuals the skills needed to land and secure a job in a good paying and growing industry. GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) was joined by tribal partner Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians and Anza Electric Cooperative Inc. recently to celebrate the completion of California’s first low-income community solar project with a ribbon-cutting.
The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Tribe received funding from the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF) and partnered with GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) to provide solar for three single family homes.
