Accessibility to hands-on solar installation training gives individuals the skills needed to land and secure a job in a good paying and growing industry. The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Tribe received funding from the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF) and partnered with GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) to provide solar for three single family homes.

Solar Training for Chemehuevi Tribal Members

GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) was awarded funding from the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF) to solarize eight homes on the Chemehuevi Tribal Reservation in Lake Havasu, California. Of the eight low-income homes these tribal families will receive solar, four have already been installed.

Solar and Battery Back-up System for Soboba Tribal Community

GRID Alternatives was awarded a $1.7 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for a microgrid community solar project and battery backup system on the Soboba Band of Cahuilla and Luiseño Indian Tribe Reservation in San Jacinto, Calif.
