Alexandra Shade
Workforce Development Manager
Alexandra graduated from MIT with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Sustainable Development and Innovation. Through MIT’s D-Lab, she was involved in various co-creation projects and worked with people around the world to create low-cost, practical innovations to address global poverty challenges in developing countries. She became passionate about socially and environmentally conscious work and inclusive technology and spent the last two years of college developing a background in renewable energy, engineering leadership, STEM education (for youth), and international development. In 2019, she did a Humanitarian Innovation program and spent 2 months in Athens, Greece teaching design and innovation workshops for unaccompanied refugee minors. A San Diego native, she returned to California to pursue her interest in inclusive sustainable technology. Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys running, hiking, and creating witty photo captions.
