Keng Thao
Construction Assistant
As a Hmong refugee, Keng Thao is accustomed to hard work and making sacrifices for his loved ones. His previous employment installing solar panels required him to commute to the Bay Area weekly to provide for his family. Free time is far in between being married with 3 children. Fishing with his wife and children has been a great way to connect with them while enjoying his favorite pastime.
Keng joined GRID as a construction assistant. It's his first time working for a non-profit, and he's enjoying his experience. One thing Keng was anticipating was the difficulty of getting along with new coworkers. Surprisingly, the staff has been easy to get along with, and he appreciates the work culture.
