Major Grant from Bank of America for SolarCorps Fellows

As part of our annual Central Valley Solarthon, which was held this year in the City of Orange Cove on December 2nd, representatives from Bank of America presented a check in the amount of $500,000 to support our GRID Alternatives SolarCorps Fellowship Program.  SolarCorps Fellows come from various backgrounds and parts of the country; this program provides hand-on experience in the field of solar photovoltaics as well as builds administrative skills, program knowledge and work experience in numerous renewable energy job categories. Under the program, up to 60 SolarCorps Fellows build skills designed to jumpstart their clean energy careers. Our most recent group of fellows started their term this past September. They will spend the next year of paid service at GRID contributing to solar installations for an estimated 1500 low-income households and providing solar training to approximately 5000 volunteers. We are thankful for all the support from Bank of America and appreciate their investment in clean energy and GRID Alternatives.
