On Thursday, December 17th GLA had our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party. Over 120 volunteers, homeowners, board members, and staff gathered in the GLA warehouse to celebrate the amazing work we’ve done this year.
GLA’s Workforce Development Officer, Adewale Ogunbadejo emceed the evening and reminded our volunteers of what they had achieved in 2015: 645 volunteers attended a specialized training or orientation, 476 different volunteers including 96 women were on an installation, 35 volunteers were certified as team leaders, and most importantly over 76 volunteers obtained employment in the solar industry. With your help, GLA completed 194 in-house installations this year, a record high for the entire GRID Alternatives organization. Our thanks and congrats to each of you!
We also celebrated the career of GLA’s own Alan Williamson who is retiring at the end of the year. Alan has been with GLA the longest of any staff member and is our all-time leader in leading installations.
Board Chair David Revelt was also honored during the night’s festivities as he prepares to step down from the board. David has been a team leader, supporter and a board member since 2013.
We wish David and Alan all the best on their future endeavors and give our gratitude and best wishes for Happy Holidays to one and all!
