Galaxy star Ethan Zubak helped us score with solar in Carson during our last month of 2017 installs

As we continue our mission to bring renewable energy to those in need across three counties, we've been extraordinarily lucky to find supporters in unlikely places. That said, the GRID Alternatives credo is that it takes a wide cross-section of diverse people across the community to lead a transition to clean solar energy. And when we find love from new sources, we're always happy to turn it into a productive opportunity!

The L.A. Galaxy, which plays its home games in a municipality we've long prioritized, Carson (the Greater Los Angeles office was founded here!), recently made contact with us about helping to bring solar to a new corner of the community. It's part of the Galaxy's Week of Giving, and continues their "Protect the Pitch" social media initiative to draw soccer fans' attention to the importance of healthy, green communities. Of course, all the Galaxy's efforts along these avenues align perfectly with our work helping Carson go green. We were so excited when they agreed to come out in a nearby neighborhood and join us on a roof for our last corporate-sponsored workday of 2017.

Galaxy forward Ethan Zubak, Galaxy Foundation representative Celeste Soto, and attendees from AEG were part of a large group that joined us this week, taking on a two-story roof in order to bring GRID Alternatives solar to Timothy Powell. Timothy grew up in this large home, and the money he's going to save after the project installed by Galaxy team members comes online will allow him to stay in Carson for many years to come. We feel a deep appreciation that collaboration with the Galaxy family allowed a deserving homeowner to enjoy an easier 2018, and congratulate Ethan and everyone who came out with him.
