Solar for San Bernardino Native

Samuel Edmond has lived in San Bernardino for over 30 years and has four children, two of whom he adopted out of the foster care system. He worked as a clinical laboratory technician for the Loma Linda Veteran’s Association, whose mission is to treat veterans with medical afflictions.

Samuel learned about the initiatives of GRID Alternatives Inland Empire through applying for weatherization assistance on his home. “Southern California Edison sent me a flyer through the mail that introduced me to GRID, and I gave them a call right away,” said Samuel. The outreach coordinator helped him streamline the application process. “Everybody has been great, from beginning to end,” he said.

As an energy-conscious individual who takes great pride in applying energy efficient measures to his home, Samuel was very interested in getting solar. After researching various solar companies, he realized that the cost was too high. Samuel can now take energy efficiency to the next level with his new no cost solar system, thanks to GRID.

Samuel is eager to start seeing the savings reflected on his upcoming electricity bills. Single-family homeowners typically save up to 70% on their monthly energy bill. He could not believe that with GRID’s Energy for All program, money would go right back into his pocket. “I’ve never heard of a greater organization than GRID,” said Samuel.

As a retired member of the San Bernardino community, he looks forward to spending his days working on his classic cars and motor boat.

Samuel plans to share GRID’s Energy for All program with family and friends. To see if you qualify, call 951.465.2864 or visit us at www.energyforallprogram.org.
