With help from the Bay Area Air District’s Clean Cars for All (CCFA) program, Erwin Bork was able to purchase a Chevy Bolt

Due to its cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency, Bork wanted to reduce greenhouse gases and try to tackle climate change by purchasing an electric vehicle (EV). His 23-year-old van was experiencing transmission issues, so he sought out support from the CCFA program to purchase an EV. Bork states, “I certainly appreciate the program and how it has helped us and I’m sure there are many others that are just as fortunate.”

While Bork was initially hesitant to drive his electric car on a long-distance trip because accessibility to charging posed to be a challenge, he found reliable charging stations on his route to Tahoe and encourages others to take a leap of faith when it comes to electric vehicles—
“[It] can be intimidating to a lot of people, including myself, but I’ve done it a few times and once you start getting a feel of where the stations are- it’s not such a big deal.”
Bork, having faced financial difficulties, appreciates programs like CCFA program that aids “others who may not have quite as much money to be able to purchase a new vehicle especially in the EV direction.”
CCFA is administered by the Bay Area Air District, and case management services are provided by GRID Alternatives. The CCFA program aims to reduce your financial concerns and carbon footprint. As of March 4th, 2025, the program has assisted more than 5,000 applicants in their purchase towards a clean vehicle. If you are in need of a new vehicle and hope to contribute towards a greener Earth, you might consider participating in the CCFA program!
