Thank you, volunteers!

GRID Alternatives’ Bay Area office celebrated all of its hardworking volunteers last week with some fun in the sun, delicious food and a special ribbon cutting ceremony on our own newly finished solar system, installed on our own warehouse roof in Oakland. At our appreciation party, those with over 300 volunteer hours under their belt were honored with certificates of appreciation. A few of our most dedicated, like Team Leaders Willie and Cliff (pictured here) - who have an astonishing 1700 volunteer hours between them - also received stylish customized hardhats!

Volunteers are the backbone of GRID’s work - the 3300+ solar electric system installations GRID has installed to date simply could not have happened without them. So to all of the volunteers out there we say thank you! Thank you for giving your time and energy, for always bringing your best to the job site and for helping us install solar for those who need it most.

Interested in becoming a GRID volunteer? Installing solar with us offers many rewards (besides the fashion-forward safety gear!) such as job training, networking opportunities, and being able to contribute to economically and environmentally sustainable communities. Join us today!

And a special thanks to volunteer Alena Newcomb for taking beautiful photos of the party!
